Wayne Meeten, Private Client.
Early in 2017, Hatstand Design was commissioned by Wayne and Emma to design a new coffee table for their living space. Wayne and Emma have a keen eye for design (Wayne is a designer, goldsmith & silversmith). They were very certain of what they wanted and Nick was happy to listen to their ideas. Wayne had a large slab of Cedar of Lebanon that's to be the focal point for the design, the brief, to create into something beautiful, in an oriental style, as a centre piece for their living room.
"The wood was very rough with chain saw markings all down it, and we invited him to see whether they could be made into two beautiful table tops.
With myself having a Design background, and had lived in Japan, I had a strong vision that I was after, with the legs, the size and the form.
When the commission was ready, Nick delivered them with the utmost care, he even took off his shoes as he entered our home which impressed us.
The tops were beautifully refined and finished and he incorporated not only my ideas, but tweaked them with his skill and knowledge to make them fit beautifully in our home.
His attention to detail, and work ethics is what makes Nick a special Designer Craftsman of wood. If you let him be totally free, I feel it can have a wonderful outcome.
He is one to watch for the future, in making bespoke pieces of furniture."

OB Architecture
June 13, 2017
Hatstand Deign was contracted by OB Architecture to carry out repairs on a Glulam extension in a private property near Guildford. Working closely with the architects and the client on site Nick ensured the repairs were seamless and the finish was sensitive to its surroundings.
"Hatstand Design assisted us with the repairs of an oak glulam structure to a contemporary extension to a Grade II listed property. Nick's work was exemplary."
